Earls Ford was a traditional crossing point before the Chattooga got Wild &amp; Scenic status .\u00a0 Locals weren&#8217;t happy with the road closure on the South Carolina side because afterwards it was a long drive to see their friends and relatives.\u00a0 The road closure required the county&#8217;s cooperation since it was a traditional right of way.\u00a0 Oconee County, SC closed their side.\u00a0 Rabun County, GA did not.\u00a0 So people drive and camp on the old right of way and sometimes drive their trucks into the river to wash them.<\/p>\n<p>The creek was pretty busy and hard to video at this level (big).\u00a0 When it runs, it is mostly bank to bank moving water, so it is hard to find a rock to film from.\u00a0 But the puppy was fun!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>April 1995 &#8211; We ran Warwoman Creek, which flows from Warwoman Rd near Clayton, GA in Rabun County to the Chattooga where it marks both Earls Ford and the top of Section 3.
