It was cold, which turned out to be a good thing. In Seven Car Pileup, below Bushwacker, I clipped a rock with my right hand and had a diagonal break on my pinky metacarpal. The water was cold, so that helped keep the swelling down. The cold and adrenaline kept the pain at bay, most of the time&#8230; You can paddle with just 3 fingers. But the brace at the bottom of Singley&#8217;s hurt pretty bad. It also hurt taking off my Barney the Dinosaur non-Goretex dry suit.
